Paved Expeditions
The perfect choice if you prefer to take a leisurely drive around town...
...or just want the convenience of driving between the island's two world class resorts. Lana‘i has a quiet little city center with quaint "Mom & Pop" shops ideal for browsing, and tree shaded Dole Park, ideal for resting and relaxing.
If golf is on the itinerary, Lana‘i boasts the extraordinary Experience at Koele designed by Gregg Norman, and the Jack Nicklaus designed Challenge at Manele voted by Conde Nast the #1 course in North America!
Hulopo‘e Beach is the only pavement accessible beach and also the only one with running water and restrooms. Voted the #1 beach in America (1999) this beautiful beach also boasts some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world. An easy hike out to Pu‘u Pehe (Sweetheart Rock) is a must especially at sunset.
Because of the off road terrain we will ask that you restrict your driving in our mini vans to pavement only destinations.
4 Wheel Drive Jeep Safari
"The recommended way to go!"
The hidden treasures of our island paradise can only be explored with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The off road trails on Lana‘i will take you from the very lowest altitude to the peak of the Lanaihale at 3,370 feet.
Be prepared with your camera and plenty of film since you will likely see some of the thousands of the Asian Axis deer and Mouflon sheep that free range on Lana‘i. And of course, you don't want to miss the five island view from the Munro Trail or the rusty old WWII ship just off Shipwreck Beach on Lanai‘s north shore. Lana‘i is home to one of the largest populations of Green Sea Turtles in Hawai‘i, and, from December thru April, the gentle giants of the Pacific, the Humpback Whales, can be seen enjoying the protected waters around Lana‘i.
The sporty Jeep Wranglers have air conditioning and AM/FM radios. Off road driving is restricted to specified routes. Maps and current conditions will be provided.
